Builder’s Pistol Supply is a Phoenix, Arizona-based retailer specializing in Polymer80 frames and P80 build components. Founded by Derek Holt — a DIY firearms enthusiast with over 8 years of hands-on building experience — our shop exists because we got tired of searching ten different websites to find compatible parts for a single build.
Every product we sell has been personally tested in our own builds. We know which slides fit which frames, which barrels need which springs, and which lower parts kits actually hold up after 1,000 rounds. That firsthand knowledge means you get parts that work together — not a random assortment of components from different manufacturers that may or may not be compatible.

P80 Build Technology
How Polymer80 frames work, what you need, and what to expect from your first build.
How P80 Frames Work
Polymer80 frames are injection-molded from reinforced nylon polymer. They arrive 80% complete — the fire control cavity and pin holes need to be finished using the included jig and drill bits. Once completed, the frame accepts standard Glock-pattern components.
Tools You Need
A drill press or hand drill with steady technique, pin punches (3mm and 4mm), a hammer, needle-nose pliers, sandpaper (220-400 grit), and optionally a Dremel for channel cleanup. The jig and drill bits come with the frame.
Completion Time
Most first-time builders complete the frame in 2-3 hours, taking their time on each step. Experienced builders can finish in under an hour. The full pistol assembly (frame + slide + internals) adds another 30-60 minutes.
Difficulty Levels
Frame completion is rated moderate — any patient person with basic tool skills can do it. Tab removal and channel cleanup are the trickiest steps. Slide and lower parts assembly is straightforward with a guide. Start with a PF940C for the easiest first build.

Building Your First P80
There’s something deeply satisfying about building your own pistol from an 80% frame. You start with a block of polymer that looks nothing like a firearm, and through careful drilling, filing, and assembly, you end up with a fully functional handgun that you built with your own hands. It’s the reason Derek started Builder’s Pistol Supply — to make that experience accessible to everyone.
The P80 build process teaches you more about how your firearm functions than any course or manual ever could. When you’ve hand-fitted every pin, installed every spring, and tested every function yourself, you understand the mechanical relationship between trigger, sear, and striker in a way that makes you a better, more knowledgeable gun owner. And that knowledge pays dividends every time you clean, maintain, or troubleshoot any pistol you own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about P80 builds, ordering, and shipping.
Federal law allows individuals to manufacture firearms for personal use without a license, provided they are legally allowed to possess firearms. However, state and local laws vary significantly — some states restrict unserialized firearms or home-built handguns. You are responsible for knowing and complying with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction before purchasing an 80% frame or build kit.
For a first build, we recommend the PF940C (compact, Glock 19-compatible). It’s the most popular P80 frame, has the widest parts availability, and is the right size for both range use and everyday carry. The PF940v2 (full-size, Glock 17-compatible) is great for range/home use. The PF9SS (subcompact, Glock 43-compatible) is best for experienced builders wanting a concealed carry build.
You need a drill press or hand drill, pin punches, a hammer, needle-nose pliers, sandpaper (220-400 grit), and a vise or clamping system. A Dremel rotary tool is helpful for channel cleanup but not required. The jig and drill bits are included with every Polymer80 frame. Most builders complete their first frame in 2-3 hours.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) processed securely through our encrypted payment gateway. Your payment information is never stored on our servers. All transactions are processed in USD.

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for unused items in original packaging. Defective components are replaced at no cost — just contact [email protected] with your order number and a description of the issue. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days after we receive the returned item. Started 80% frames cannot be returned once any drilling or modification has begun.
About Builder’s Pistol Supply
Builder’s Pistol Supply is a Phoenix, Arizona-based online retailer specializing in Polymer80 frames, P80 build kits, aftermarket slides, barrels, lower parts kits, upper parts kits, jigs, tools, and magazines. We were founded in 2024 by Derek Holt, a lifelong DIY firearms enthusiast who spent over eight years building P80 pistols as a hobby before turning that passion into a business. Our mission is simple: make it easy for law-abiding Americans to build their own pistols with quality parts, clear guidance, and real builder-to-builder support.
The Polymer80 platform has become the most popular 80% pistol system in the United States, and for good reason. P80 frames use a high-strength reinforced polymer construction that rivals OEM Glock frames in durability and ergonomics — many builders actually prefer the P80 grip angle and texturing over factory Glock. The frame completion process requires only basic hand tools and can be accomplished by any patient person with steady hands, making it accessible to first-time builders and experienced gunsmiths alike.
What Sets Us Apart
Unlike generic firearms parts retailers, we focus exclusively on the P80 ecosystem. Every product in our catalog has been selected specifically for Polymer80 compatibility and tested in our own builds. When you buy a complete build kit from Builder’s Pistol Supply, you know every component has been verified to work together — the slide fits the frame, the barrel fits the slide, and the internals are spec’d correctly for reliable function. We carry components compatible with PF940C (Glock 19/23), PF940v2 (Glock 17/22), PF9SS (Glock 43), and PF45 platforms.
We ship from our Phoenix, Arizona facility Monday through Friday, with same-day shipping on orders placed before 2 PM MST. Free standard shipping is available on orders over $149. Every package ships discreetly with no markings indicating contents. Our customer support team has hands-on P80 building experience and can assist with parts selection, compatibility questions, and build troubleshooting. Contact us at [email protected] — we respond to every message within 24 hours because we know how frustrating it is to be stuck mid-build waiting for answers.
